Mallika Sherwat skipped dinner with Obama for her film ‘Dirty Politics’

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat claimed that she skipped dinner with US president Barack Obama in order to promote her forthcoming film ‘Dirty Politics’.

At a press conference organised for the launching of the film, the actress said that she had to skip the president dinner as she was needed back in India to promote her upcoming film ‘Dirty Politics’. Moreover, she revealed that this was the “most important film of her career”, hence she made this very tough decision to skip Obama’s dinner party!

The actress also said that she had flown in especially for her commitments towards her film, which is based on a nurse Bhanwari Devi. She said, “It is true that I was invited for the dinner with Obama, and I had even confirmed that I was attending it. However, when I got a call from director K C Bokadia, that a press meet is being held today, I made a decision to come back as for me ‘Dirty Politics’ is a very important project.”

Mallika has earlier too met Obama at a tea party in Los Angeles in 2011.She was also invited for tea with Obama during his Presidential campaign visit in Hollywood last year.
